Consultancy
Most of our consultancy activities involve the preparation of a report for use in planning studies, inquiries, arbitration or court procedures. This means we identify the physical factors that influence, or may influence, a particular design proposal or incident; review existing published data; and gather new data relevant to the case in question. Some of the required data may already be in the hands of the client but has yet to be fully investigated and analysed. After an initial assessment we may need to visit a site to gather further data. We can draw upon a wide range of skills to achieve this using boats or aircraft as necessary. Following analysis we then present the results in a form that will be understood by the client's target audience. This can sometimes involve constructing computer simulations based upon known scientific principles. Costs can be saved in many cases by prospective clients checking their own resources for relevant data, including historic data. We can usually advise on this during an initial telephone enquiry. |
