Site Investigations
This can involve any or all of land, sea or aerial data gathering. Many marine investigations require precision timing to fit in with tides. We can calculate tidal conditions for anywhere in the world, even when they are some distance from a standard port. Visits to remote sites or estuarine flats will always be undertaken with at least two personnel for safety purposes. For most investigations we will need to identify and survey to known datums. In the UK and Ireland these are normally Bench Marks. Clients can save costs and time if they can assemble local datum information prior to a visit. We normally work to GPS derived Lat and Long at sea, or in the air, but land based co-ordinates (Ordnance Survey Grid References in the UK) for land based surveys (coastlines, estuaries and rivers). We can always transform co-ordinates to suit particular client needs. All coastal and aerial surveys are weather dependent. Forward planning is essential to get the required data.
